Nate's background is in math & machine learning. He first attended college at 11 and studied math, physics & CS at University of Toronto, UBC, UChicago & Oxford. At 20, he helped build a startup called Enlitic (named one of MIT's top 50 smartest companies) that developed AI algorithms to process radiology + genomic data to make 50-100% more accurate diagnoses for millions of patients in the US & China. As Chief Scientist at Enlitic, he helped develop many of the early AI models, raise the company's Seed & Series A as well as secure its first customers.
Charles' background is in distributed systems. After graduating from UChicago, he helped build Amazon Web Services' forecasting service which created and deployed automated algorithms to allocate the AWS hardware Spend. He lead the effort to develop a custom data store to radically reduce model execution times, saving significant capex. After that, he helped scale DynamoDB (one of largest databases in the world) where he was named top engineer of his class and led mission-critical patch teams during major outages in Amazon-wide software infrastructure. To prevent further outages, he lead the development of novel request routing algorithms. Before co-founding Ruby Plants, Charles led software at Parker's Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy.
